Team is founded by IB student
The team has been founded by International Business student Martin Clausen, who completed his first Copenhagen Marathon in 2009. He got his fellow student Tobias Bo Jensen in on the idea and now they want many more CBS students to join.
Sponsored t-shirts to support charity project
The running team is supported by CBS Sports, and the idea is to get the students to run in sponsored t-shirts.
- All profits will be handed to a charity project within the terms of education and development in Africa. This year we have chosen “Wheels of Action – Orphan Games”, which is an athletic competition for orphans in Tanzania, Martin explains.
The race is free of charge for students
Participation in the marathon is free of charge, since Danish newspaper Politiken sponsors students in the race. And you can join the project even if you have registered for the race already.
Wanted: Other volunteers
But the project also needs volunteers to do some fundraising i.e. contacting possible sponsors and so on.
Running experience needed
The team will arrange a weekly training pass during the spring season until the 23rd of May. It is expected that everybody who is interested intend to finish the race within 5 hours. This means that you need to have some running experience to participate.
If you are interested you are welcome to contact Mads Clausen at macl09ac@student.cbs.dk or by phone: 2395 6891.
