Making a Case for Growth
This year’s case company is Norwegian media house - Schibsted ASA. Schibsted ASA is the only traditional Media House that has succeeded in making online activities into a truly profitable business. Presentation on video conference
In an hour long video conference with Executive Vice President, International - Sverre Munck this morning, participants were presented with the company’s strategic objectives and an opportunity to ask questions. The case is specifically about to the company’s greatest growth segment Schibsted Classified Media (SCM), which has been dominating the European market within online classifieds. Teams need to address how Schibsted ASA can expand this profitable business division in markets where growth opportunities are still abundant, given the current economic conditions.
Final Presentations
This will be a challenging case and as the company’s focus is on innovation, CBS should look forward some very interesting presentations from the participants. The teams have already been divided into 3 preliminary round groups – where each team will compete on Friday morning with three other teams for a place in the finals. Finalists will be announced at 13:00 the same day and the CBS Case Competition finals will be an open event for all to attend at Solbjerg Plads, SPs01 at 14:00-17:00 on Friday, 27th February, 2009.
