Later this week, CBS OBSERVER’s electronic newsletter will be sent out to all CBS students and employees for the first time. In the future staff and students no longer have to subscribe in order to receive the newsletter; they have to unsubscribe it if they do not wish to receive it. For the English-speaking staff and students, CBS OBSERVER will also be sending out an English version of the newsletter, which can be subscribed to both in addition to the Danish version or as an alternative.
An unqualified success – yet to be deserved
The number of subscribers to CBS OBSERVER’s newsletter has increased from just over 3,200 to nearly 28,000 overnight. The immense leap in interest is not, however, something that the editorial staff at CBS OBSERVER can take any credit for.
CBS’ management has decided that the new online version of CBS OBSERVER should have the same access to students and staff at CBS as the newly discontinued monthly newspaper. This was automatically sent by mail to all students and staff. And thus, CBS OBSERVER will now be automatically sent out electronically to all students and staff at CBS.
Slow, but accelerating start
Due to circumstances beyond our editorial control we have been a bit slow in generating more than just a few articles and blog-contributions on a daily basis here in the beginning, but this will be changing in short order. We will be doing our very best to keep up a steady flow of relevant and interesting, CBS-oriented news, analytical stories, feature articles, blog contributions, topical debate and hopefully reader-comments to all of the above in both Danish and English in the future.
English-language content a high priority
There will probably be slightly less English-language content than Danish, but this will be both dedicated articles written specifically for CBS’ international staff and students (and then versioned into Danish) as well as versioned reproductions of CBS OBSERVER’s Danish-language articles.
We have high editorial ambitions and we want to deliver our readers the most pertinent possible content. So please do not hesitate to contact us, if you want to contribute or have a subject, which you think would make a relevant story for your fellow international and Danish readers.
CBS OBSERVER’s newsletter is only an offer!
The electronic newsletter will be sent out to all students and staff at CBS with an ...@cbs.dk or an ...@student.cbs.dk e-mail account. Here it is important to point out, that the mailing-lists are owned and administered by CBS alone, and that CBS OBSERVER only has access to send out the electronic newsletter – nothing else.
Also, neither CBS nor CBS OBSERVER has any desire to spam staff and students with unwanted mails. So we are making it very easy to unsubscribe if you do not wish to receive the newsletter.
The Danish-language newsletter is the default choice
For English-language readers there’s a twist to this; you HAVE TO unsubscribe the Danish newsletter and choose the English-language newsletter instead ... or you can choose both ... we really would prefer if you didn’t choose neither, actually.
The only thing left to say is that CBS OBSERVER is very happy to be back in the game. We will do our very best to live up to our reader’s and subscribers’ expectations and wishes.
