As a VIP-member of the CBS Board I will consider it as my main obligation to contribute with and fight for the academic perspective.

I run for one of the vacant positions on the CBS Board because I was encouraged to do so, and because I believe I possess the qualifications needed to make a positive difference as a member of the board. The relevance of my candidacy was confirmed when I presented it to a number of colleagues, who all responded positively to it, and when, within two days, 14 colleagues from 11 departments signed up as supporters of my nomination (A copy of my nomination is available on my CBS Share candidate site). In my view this suggests that I am a candidate that can gather support across the school’s many different departments.

One of my strengths is that during my career at CBS I have served as head of department and union representative, and been a member of several study boards, and thus, I have acquired comprehensive knowledge about and insight into the many parts of the CBS organization. Also, within the organization I have established a wide network, which brings me in contact with many colleagues on a regular basis. As a member of the CBS Board I will apply my knowledge about the many processes and the various interests in the organization, while simultaneously striving for a balance between diversity and unity at CBS.

Another strength is that I maintain an extensive external network, both in the international research community, and among Danish business people. While serving as head of department I was invited to joint a formal network of people holding managerial positions in the public and private sector in Denmark. My membership of this network allows me to discuss a variety of topics and issues of interests to this group on a regular basis, and thus, I keep myself updated about matters, which attract attention from an important set of CBS' external stakeholders. Finally, as a former member of the Board of the Øresund IT Academy I bring experience from a board, which had the same member composition as the CBS Board

As a VIP-member of the CBS Board I will consider it as my main obligation to contribute with and fight for the academic perspective. In my opinion the CBS Board should always remember that CBS’s two core activities are research and education, and therefore, the core task of the board should be to provide the best possible foundation for production of research and education of high quality at CBS.
