CBS IT systems shutting down today, Friday

Remember that SiteScape, CBSLearn, E-Campus and several other IT systems are going to be shut down at 4 PM today. All systems are scheduled to be up and running again by 8 AM Saturday morning. CBS IT emphasizes that SiteScape users might lose any data they upload on Friday, so make sure you keep a back-up of any files you upload or stay out of the Cloud until Saturday morning.

CBS’ EQUIS accredictation renewed

CBS recently received a renewal of its EQUIS accreditation for another five years, CBS’ staff intranet, CBSshare reports. EQUIS – the “European Quality Improvement System” – is the leading international benchmark for quality, improvement and the accreditation of institutions of higher education in the fields of business and leadership.

Nexus and CBS take action on noise and vandalism complaints

Loud music, vandalism, public urination and drunken brawls – CBS students once again attracted unfavourable attention from neighbours and fellow students while partying at Nexus’ Thursday Bar in late 2010. This time, the complaints prompted serious action from both CBS and Nexus: an open dialogue, noise containing curtains, improved location management and a two-fold increase in lavatory facilities are now supposed to put at ease all aggrieved parties.

Denmark’s first ComCase Competition

Tomorrow you can go see the public finals for Denmark’s first ever case competition for communications students. Starting today, Thursday the 27th of January, 11 groups of graduate students from four Danish universities will wring out their brains over a communications conundrum provided by one of Denmark’s pharmaceutical giants, Coloplast.

CBS receives funding for even greener campus

Scandic Sustainability Fund has granted CBS 390,000 DKK for its Greener Campus-initiative. Part of the funds will be used to hire half a dozen students to form a ‘Green Team’ of role models who recruit and work with volunteer CBS green ambassadors to lead the way towards CBS’ climate goals. Before the biggest portion of the funds can really be used, however, one obstacle needs to be cleared: the CBS administrative employee hiring freeze.

CBS soon to get Apple’s full student discount

Honorary Doctorates, Doctorates and Latin

CBS’ Solbjerg Plads found itself carpeted in solemn red on November 16, 2010. Just before 10 am a small procession of eight grey-and-blue ceremonial robes were led towards the KPMG lecture hall by a single black robe. Inside these robes walked CBS’ President and Deans, this year’s Honorary Doctor  as well as the four latest defenders of their doctoral thesis from CBS.

CBS graduates take 1st and 2nd place in thesis competition

Four recent graduates from CBS took both first and second prize in this year’s Danske Bank's Master's thesis competition, ‘Danske Speciale 2010’. The first prize was awarded to an interdisciplinary thesis that contained new and fresh perspectives on one of the central challenges the bank is facing.
