Major awards for CBS' research elite

Professor Morten Bennedsen is the first senior CBS-researcher to win the award.
January 24th saw not just one, but two of CBS’ finest receiving an award for their elite research by HRH The Crown Princess Mary and the Danish Minister of Science, Helge Sander. The central recipient was Professor Morten Bennedsen from the Institute of Economics

As one of seven Danish researcers, Professor Morten Bennedsen from CBS' Institute of Economics received an award of one million DKK in recognition of his ability to "create new methodologies in the field of economics exemplified by his publishing’s in the finest economic and political journals." The prize is part of the government’s "EliteForsk" initiative which aims to draw attention to and reward the best scientists in Denmark.

At the same event, CBS PhD-student Grith Skovgaard Ølykke from the Institute of Law was awarded a scholarship of 250,000 DKK to finance an exchange period at an elite international university. Grith is planning to attend the School of Law at University of Nottingham.

Only a week later, on January 31st, CBS was recognized as the Danish Entrepreneurship University of The Year by the Ministry of Science. CBS was especially acknowledged for the large number of new business start-ups and increasing number of female entrepreneurs in the student and graduate bodies.
