Prestigious Business Scholarship goes to CBS student

Christina Legarth Jacobsen is 24 years old and close to finishing her MSc in Finance and Strategic Management at CBS. Here she receives the award from the chairman of the Zonta Scholarship committee in Denmark, Dorte Olesen.

The international network organization Zonta has just awarded the prestigious Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship of US$8,000. The recipient, Danish Christina Legarth Jacobsen studies MSc in Finance and Strategic Management at CBS.

Hardcore business and volunteer social effort
Christina Legarth Jacobsen, who studies MSc (FSM) at CBS, was chosen as the recipient of the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship, because she already at an early time in her studies has set ambitious goals for herself, professionally as well as personally.

In addition to receiving top grades in her studies, she’s had student jobs at Egon Zehnder International and Rambøll Management Consulting and she’s been on foreign exchange at the National University of Singapore, London School of Economics and recently Columbia University as well.

Because she believes in giving back, she’s worked as a volunteer for six months at an orphanage in India and with raising awareness about HIV/AIDS in Mauritius.

Happy and grateful for important recognition
Christina was chosen by the Zonta club Copenhagen I, as the club’s candidate to the district price from Zonta’s district 13 that cover all clubs in Norway, Iceland, Lithuania and Denmark. She won the district award and thereby gained access to competing among the 32 district winners from all over the world.

Among these, Christina was chosen.

- I’m incredibly happy grateful for the recognition and help for my studies abroad the scholarship represents, says Christina Legarth Jacobsen and adds:

- Zonta’s work with improving the opportunities and status of women is very important – both in local and international context. My personal plan is to work in the field of maritime industry and I hope to start a traineeship after I’ve graduated.

International network promotes the status of women
Zonta is an international network with an overall goal consisting of strengthening women’s legal, political, economical, educational, health and work status. Zonta is represented in 67 countries and collaborates with the UN on projects that better women’s health and education.

Zonta and Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship
Zonta is an international network with an overall goal consisting of strengthening women’s legal, political, economical, educational, health and work status. Zonta is represented in 67 countries and collaborates with the UN on projects that better women’s health and education.

Zonta International’s Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarships were started in 1998 with the purpose of encouraging women all over the world to pursue a career in the industries. The scholarships are given to students that are currently at least two years into a higher business education.

The prestigious scholarships shine a spotlight on the students of today who’ll become the leaders of tomorrow. A total of 12 international scholarships are given out each year, to young female students from all over the world.
