This Thursday, Café Nexus opens the doors to its own version of the world famous New Orleans phenomenon, the Mardi Gras celebrations.

A bit later than usual, but CBS OBSERVER once again presents you with an overview of some of the week’s activities and events at and around CBS. Among other things, this week features wine tasting with CBS Wine, insights into politics provided by a spin doctor, and Mardi Gras party at Nexus.

Monday – the spin doctor’s secrets and improv theater

The student organization PoKo (Politik og Kommunikation) is ready with another exciting event. This time Mark Thorsen, who is the spin doctor for Danish politician Inger Støjberg, takes center stage.

During his presentation, Mark Thorsen will – among other subjects - provide insights on how to manage personal attacks in the political environment, and how to handle the hordes of hungry journalists always on the lookout for a sensational breaking story. Furthermore, he will open up about his path from political science studies to a strategic role very close to the center of political power in Denmark.

The event takes place at University of Copenhagen’s Faculty of Social Sciences located on Østre Farimagsgade. The event starts at 5.15pm and participation is free of charge. The presentation will be conducted in Danish.

Later in the evening CBS Improv Theatre is once again ready with a session of improvisational theater at Lygten station in Nørrebro, and this time the performers from the student organization are joined by a new performance group called ‘The Monos’.

The event starts at 8pm and entrance is free of charge. However, guests are more than welcome to make a donation when the collection box is passed around.
