It is Friday again and that means that we bring you an overview of some of next week’s activities and events at and around CBS. (And starting with next week’s overview, the first day of the week is Monday as we have realized that this is in fact not 1973).

Most of next week’s activities and events take place at the end of the week. However, the week does kick off with live transmission of the year’s biggest sporting event in the US.

Sunday – Watch Super Bowl 50 live at Nexus

Super Bowl 50 kicks off in San Francisco this Sunday as Carolina Panthers’ impressive offensive line led by quarterback Cam Newton faces off against the NFL’s best defence in the shape of the Denver Broncos, whose offensive line is led by legendary quarterback Peyton Manning.

And CBS Sport Football and Nexus have joined forces and organized a great event with live transmission of the game and much more as your ticket includes a burger, beer, snacks, and, of course, complimentary coffee throughout the night to make sure that you do not miss the last touchdown.

Furthermore, you can win original CBS Sport apparel in giveaways throughout the night.

The doors at Nexus open at 9.30pm and the game starts at 00.30am. Tickets are DKK 190 apiece and you can get your hands on a ticket here and read more about the event here.

Wednesday – Career Fair and a good cup of CBS Coffee

As you, of course, are an ambitious career-oriented CBS student, you should attend the first Career Fair of the year where 50 companies are represented and ready to answer your questions. It all takes place at Solbjerg Plads from 10am to 4pm.

So, do not miss this opportunity to network with company representatives and establish valuable relations to your potential future employer.

CBS Coffee is the student organization for coffee enthusiasts, a forum where students can enjoy good coffee, socialize, establish new relationships, and engage in interesting discussions. The organization also organizes other events, e.g. presentations by entrepreneurs involved with the coffee industry.

During the semester CBS Coffee organizes a series of casual coffee dates/meetings at different coffee bars close to campus, and this year’s second meeting takes place at the coffee bar ‘Den Fede Kat’ (The Fat Cat, edit.) on Nordre Fasanvej at 5pm.

Thursday – CBS Sport Day and a talk on insurance in maritime industries

The annual CBS Sport Day takes place on Thursday and at the event you can meet volunteer representatives and members from CBS Sport.

The organization is always interested in engaging new members and volunteers who might have an interest in contributing to a healthy and active social environment. Whether you want to join as a coach, an organizer, or something other, the possibilities in CBS Sport are vast.

Representatives from CBS’ most active student organization are ready to tell you what CBS Sport has to offer at Solbjerg Plads from 9am to 4pm.

Read more about the event here.

Later in the day Shipping Union CBS is ready with an event that has been underway for a while: a talk with representatives from SKULD, a Norwegian insurance company that specializes in insurance policies in maritime industries.

The talk takes place at Solbjerg Plads in room SP207 and starts at 2pm. Read more about the event and sign up for free here.

Friday – Debate practice on the subjects of diversity and ethnicity

CBS Debating Society is back this week with another debate practice session. This time the subjects are racial diversity and ethnicity.

The main focus is how governments should handle racially motivated conflicts; which policy measures to implement; and how countries should handle racial diversity or homogeneity.

The exchange of solid arguments starts at 4.30pm and you can read more about the session here.
